Abstract

SUMMARY We are requesting an administrative supplement to the parent grant (R37 GM058615) to fund a CO2 incubator, specifically the Thermo Scientific Forma Steri-Cult CO2 Incubator Model 3310. Our current incubator just broke. It cannot be repaired, because it is too old and thus parts are no longer available. The replacement incubator that we have selected best serves our needs while also being the most cost efficient. The parent grant has shown high productivity since its initial funding in 2001, having generated many high-impact publications. Cell-based studies, which require a CO2 incubator for cell culturing, are needed for all aims of the parent grant. Thus, funding of this supplement is critical for the continuity of our work.
