Abstract

We continue to develop and test our mathematical models of human metabolism and body weight dynamics. We are using the IAEA doubly labeled water database to evaluate our mathematical model of human growth, energy metabolism, and body composition dynamics across the life course from birth to old age. We are also analyzing data from continuous glucose monitors to better understand the relationship between food intake and the time course of interstitial glucose. Furthermore, we are mathematically modeling the effect of different diets on glucose homeostasis as assessed using oral glucose tolerance and mixed meal tests.
