Abstract

In FY2022, we have continued to pursue catheterization procedures using our high-performance 0.55T MRI system configuration. We continued our work to improve visualization of metallic interventional devices and implemented a novel algorithm to detect the subtle signal that they create. We have developed several cardiac and lung imaging methods for 0.55T, which can be used in combination with invasive catheterization, to examine cardiopulmonary interactions in patients. Notably, we have developed an imaging method to quantify lung water density, which will be used in tandem with invasive pressure measurements in patients with heart failure. We have also developed methods to measure pressure-volume loops in the MRI environment, combining invasive pressure and real-time MRI. We continue our collaboration with Dr. Robert Ledermans lab on the development of novel devices for MRI-guided procedures. Moreover, we collaborate closely with industry to make our developments accessible to other institutions.
