Abstract

The Dermatology Consultation Service provides clinical care and evaluation as well as clinical protocol support to protocols within NIAMS as well as other Institutes. Numerous important clinical collaborations via the Consult Service have led to the discovery of new disease syndromes as well as advances in our understanding of other challenging skin diseases. The consult service also provides exposure to rare and challenging skin diseases to fellows, visiting residents, and medical students. The service currently consists of two full-time clinicians, a Nurse Practitioner and a Physician Assistant.
