Abstract
This project is a long-term clinical collaboration as part of a large intramural NIH effort to advance the study and treatments of chronic graft-versus-host disease. Using clinical specimens (skin biopsies) as well as extensively phenotyped patient material, we aim to make important advances in the field. This has led to several published manuscripts since the last Annual Report. Advances in the last year include a comprehensive review of rehabilitative measures for patients with sclerotic-type GVHD of the skin, NIH International Consortium Guidelines on sclerotic GVHD, a Phase II trial of montelukast for pulmonary GVHD, biomarkers in GVHD, and predictors of hematologic relapse, and predictors of second malignancy after the development of GVHD.
