Abstract

The protocol re-initiated recruitment in 2020, after it had been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It continued uninterrupted through 2022, when recruitment of the initial cohort of 40 participants was completed. No serious adverse events were documented. Sample collection took place as planned. The study was reviewed by the Data Safety Monitoring Board, which approved its continuation. In the next fiscal year, the plan is to generate RNA sequencing data from the study, and to statistically assess whether the recruitment of additional participants will be necessary.
