Abstract

This project's goal is to develop new drugs that repair synaptic connections and restore normal communication between neurons in the brain to provide better treatments for Alzheimers disease (AD) and other tauopathies. During this period, the project team did SAR on one series with confirmed activity of purified powder (most other series lost activity after purification). Compounds with slight potency improvements were discovered. The medicinal chemistry team also synthesized irreversible inhibitors from a different chemotype in collaboration with Michael Walters.
