Abstract
The collaborative team aims to identify novel small molecule inhibitors of GPx1 and GPx4 that have potential as anticancer therapeutics. The collaborative team at NCATS and KI have produced and purified active selenocysteine-containing recombinant human GPx1 and GPx4 using a novel method. Subsequent screening of annotated and diversity libraries yielded several promising hits of both GPx1 and GPx4. These hits are undergoing more specific characterization in the lab there while a resynthesis of the top GPx4 scaffolds is ongoing for reconfirmation and the possibility of continued SAR.
