Abstract

We continue to develop and employ novel methods aimed at measuring, describing and modeling social networks. During the current reporting period, we published a novel framework for modeling small network systems, such as families. This innovation allows for addressing questions related to how endogenous features of the network shape network structure. In addition, new research has examined how co-presence metrics derived from hospital administrative data can be used as an "index test" to identify inpatients who are subclinically infected and provides a model for assessment and mitigation practices that can be integrated within hospital administrative systems to track potential infections in real time. A manuscript describing this work is currently in review.
