Abstract

Administrative Supplement to UG1 CA189824 in response to NOT‐OD‐22‐057 Project Summary Supplement: The Wake Forest NCI Community Oncology Research Program Research Base (WF NCORP) is committed to training the next generation of Cancer Control and Cancer Care Delivery Research (CCDR) investigators. WF NCORP MPIs (Lesser & Weaver) and leaders supported by this supplement (Dressler, Klepin, & Strom) are experienced research mentors, including mentoring experience with trainees traditionally under-represented in biomedical research. Through this supplement, our team will build on current mentoring activities in the parent award to expand mentoring opportunities for new NCORP investigators who are members of groups underrepresented in the biomedical research enterprise by adapting a successful Clinical Trials Boot Camp program developed by Dr. Dressler for the WF Comprehensive Cancer Center (WF CCC). The new NCORP Boot Camp program will facilitate the research success of participants by enhancing their access to mentoring, pilot grant funds, and grant writing skills, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) of WF NCORP study PIs and the WF NCORP leadership pipeline.
