Abstract

The Census Bureau will provide technical and statistical support as the steward of the National Longitudinal Mortality Study (NLMS) - Tobacco Use Supplement to the Current Population Survey (TUS-CPS) linkage study data. The project is referred to as the Tobacco Longitudinal Mortality Study (TLMS). The TLMS is a study that is being jointly sponsored by NHLBI, NCI, NIA, NCHS, FDA and the Census Bureau. Each sponsor has their own ultimate research goals in mind, but they contribute jointly to the development of the TLMS database. The development of this database is meant to enable research by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and its grantees.
