Abstract
The core provides variety of next generation sequencing services ranging from RNAseq, Chip-seq, targeted and whole exome sequencing to single cell sequencing applications. Two types of sequencing services are provided, sequencing only and full service including library preparation. We supported 328 NHLBI PIs and 25 users from other ICs in this fiscal year, and completed about 550 sequencing flow cells including Novaseq, Hiseq and Miseq, as well as Nanopore long read sequencing. We also performed about 1800 sample library constructions. The core has perform sequencing services for a COVID-19 research project carried by Dr. Egbor-Enon. In collaboration with NHLBI Proteomics core, we have engaged in discussion the Olink to introduce the high throughput protein analysis platform using next generation sequencing. The service chargeback has again well fulfilled the OSD requirement despite of service slowdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We quickly resumed normal operation after the Group A returning and kept fully operational during fiscal year 2021. The core budget was well managed. The core staff co-authored or helped a dozen of publications during last year. Another important core mission is to provide training services to users such as sequencing library preparation, sequencing process and instrument use. We sponsored several seminars presenting the newest sequencing technologies such as spatial genomics by 10X Genomics and proteomics by O-link.
