Abstract

Objective 1: Convert an equipment corridor into a tissue culture room. This project was intended to complete in Jan. 2021 when our first 2 lab members joined, but was delayed due to re-design and safety approvals. It completed in June 2021. Objective 2: Convert a cold room into a microscopy room. Not yet complete. In design phase as of August 2021. During this phase of renovation, approximately half of our tissue culture room will not be accessible. In addition, I requested in June/July 2021: 1. An increase in desk space from 4 to 6; we currently have 5 lab members and will have 6 by the end of 2021 2. To have access to more chemical hood space in order to incorporate an electrospinning machine for 3D cultures 3. Addition of or access to carbogen for primary cell culture; we cannot culture mouse cells until this is solved.
