Abstract
The Intramural Laboratory of Clinical Investigations (LCI) provides support for the research and administrative infrastructure of all NCCIH clinical protocols. The support provided are either general services provided to the NCCIH intramural clinical program as a whole or clinical research support services that could not be assigned to other more specialized project The services provided are (1) physician and nurse-practitioner coverage of patients admitted to the CRC, as well as some patients in outpatient clinics; (2) research nursing support for clinical protocols; (3) support for the preparation and submission of clinical protocols to the Institutional Review Board (IRB); (4) database support for clinical protocols; (5) credentialing; (6) general secretarial support; and (6) scheduling of appointments.
