An Observational Prospective Natural History Study of Stargardt-like Macular Dystrophy (STDG3) Secondary to Mutations in ELOVL4

Abstract

This study was approved on October 2nd, 2020. However, the study was not activated for patient recruitment until Aug 4 2021. The delay was due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place at the NIH Clinical Center. In particular the clinical center placed restrictions on patients being brought from outside the Washington Metropolitan area. The potential participants we identified all live outside the Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia. As a result, we have been unable to start the study. Patient travel and visiting at the clinical center are now less restricted and we hope to begin recruitment soon.
