Abstract

In collaboration with Dr. Peter Kalivas (MUSC), we employed our D1-Cre and D2-Cre rats to study the role of Focal adhesion kinase and cofilin in dopamine D1 receptor-expressing and dopamine receptor D2-expressing neurons in relapse-associated transient synaptic potentiation. Here we provided additional characterization data of the D1-Cre and D2-Cre rats produced as part of the Transgenic Rat Project at the NIDA Intramural Research Program. This work has been published in the Journal of Neuroscience. In collaboration with Dr. Carl Lupica (NIDA IRP) and Dr. Bruce Hope (NIDA IRP), we developed and characterized a Parvalbumin-Cre driver rat and used it to examine serotonin signaling in the rat orbitorfrontal cortex parvalbumin neurons in response to cocaine withdrawl. This work has been published in eNeuro.
