Abstract

This is a new project started last year for our laboratory. We completed and published a clinical trial with supplementation with LCMUFA, which shows favorable affects on multiple cardiometabolic parameters. Initiated mouse feeding study with very long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids and demonstrated good oral availability and their enrichment in target organs, such as the brain and retina. Developed novel chemical method for synthesis of VLCPUFA and method fo expressing ELOV2 elongase enzyme for bioproduction in caterpillars.
