Abstract
So far we have contributed to a collaborative project with Andrey Parkhito at Harvard Medical School (now at U Pitt) to explore gene interactions involving Rb1 protein. We found that several genes that were detected in in vivo drosophila screen as well in human cell lines to be synthetic lethal partners of Rb1 were also interfacing in the context of pan-cancer patient survival. This suggested additional drug candidates for Rb1-mutant tumors. Apart from exploring gene interactions involving methylation and miRNAs, we are starting a new collaboration with Dr. Ken Aldape to look for genetic interactions in Gliomas.
