Abstract

This is an incipient project as a combined effort between Dr. Utpal Pal's lab at the University of Maryland and ETB at NCATS, facilitated through an NIH-GPP Pre-Doctoral Individual Partnership Program. Borrelia stocks, both wildtype and clones with stable luciferase expression, have been transferred to NCATS from UMD, along with characterized serum and media necessary for borrelia growth. These borrelia cultures are being expanded and characterized prior to assay development, which will involve assay miniaturization and checking for signal with both BacTiterGlo and luciferase readouts.
