Abstract
Human relaxin (RLX) is a peptide hormone that exhibits antifibrotic, anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective activities, which signals through the relaxin-1 receptor (RXFP1). Relaxin can protect from ischemia-reperfusion injury in pre-clinical models of organ transplantation. During this period, the team developed a research plan to characterize the effect of RXFP1 receptor agonists on outcomes during organ transplantation. Materials to perform these studies were transferred between the investigators.
