Abstract
TNF-alpha is produced by immune cells during inflammation. This secreted protein was measured after stimulating human monocytes, to measure effects of small molecules on inflammatory response. During this period, the project team has made progress towards implementing a high-throughput screening assay to measure TNFa production from human monocytes. Several assay formats and protocols were tested for reproducibility and performance. Activity of glucocorticoids in the assays was characterized.
