Abstract
In order to evaluate the pathogenesis of COVID with a focus on lymphopenia, inflammation and coagulopathy, we opened a new protocol to obtain clinical samples (peripheral blood mononuclear cells, serum and plasma) from people with active disease. In addition, recovered patients will have similar sample collection for comparison purposes. As part of our hypothesis that lymphopenia and lack of robust adaptive responses are associated with poor prognosis we also established a dose-escalation phase I study (pilot) of long acting IL-7 in people with early mild disease.
