Abstract
The collaborative research with intramural and extramural investigators has been fruitful. In the project with Dr Rider we published a paper describing the seasonal and temporal patterns of juvenile dermatomyositis, a rare inflammatory disease. In the work with Dr. David Resnik, NIEHS Bioethicist in the Office of the Director, and others we have published a paper describing a survey-based study investigating researchers opinion on equal-contribution authorship in scientific publications. Working with Dr. Kleeberger we are studying the impact of variants in the mitochondrial genome. We found associations between variants in mitochondrial genome and VO2 max response to a standardized aerobic exercise training program. In a project led by Dr. Webb-Wright from Cellular & Molecular Pathology Branch we evaluated the effects of a commonly used opioid and topical antiseptic solution, as well as low-level laser therapy on excisional wound healing in mice. I have collaborated with researchers from Dr. Dixons lab at DNTP on projects that study mechanism of Cadmium-induced estrogen response in human uterine leiomyoma cells, differential receptor tyrosine kinase phosphorylation following developmental exposure to tetrabromobisphenol A and effects of Cadmium exposure on nucleus migration patterns.
