Abstract
In FY21, the IRF-Frederick focused most research efforts on COVID-19 studies. This included in vitro testing of antibody therapeutics and development of COVID-19 nonhuman primate and hamster animal models to support medical countermeasure efficacy testing and pathogenesis experiments. The IRF-Fredericks imaging capability has provided a unique, quantitative readout for COVID-19 progression in these models. In addition, the IRF has continued to support a large number of academic, industrial, and NIH-intramural research program collaborators through established core capabilities, including clinical imaging, pathology, molecular virology, and clinical study support in Western Africa.
