Abstract

A balanced strategy was implemented in which investments were made in acquiring instruments, equipment, and information technology across the organization. The application of these investments included core functions, research needs/initiatives where multiple laboratories would have use, as well as in the organizations key information technology infrastructure such as network switches, scientific software, data storage, computational capability, and device upgrades. Scientific instrument investments included cyro-fixation, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, sample purification, and next generation sequencing.
