Abstract
Chemical threats to the respiratory system include chemical warfare agents, pharmaceutical-based agents, toxic industrial chemical compounds, and pulmonary irritants. The primary objective of this IAA is to support the research and early development of medical countermeasures (MCMs) against chemical threats that target the respiratory system. Projects supported under this IAA were developed jointly between the NIH/NIAID/CCRP and the DoD/USAMRICD. This IAA specifically focuses on the chemical threats phosgene, phosphine, and synthetic opioids. This IAA is administered under the oversight of the NIAID/OBRS/CCRP.
