Abstract

This workshop directly supports the mission by bringing together leading researchers and clinicians, to foster discussion of emergent issues in the research and treatment of small vessel disease in brain as well as in peripheral organs, such as heart, lung, eye, and kidney. These discussions will identify areas for collaboration that will greatly enhance and intensify small vessel research in the brain and other organs. This workshop is proposed and supported by the trans-NIH small vessel biology and disease working group, which involves members from 9 ICs and two offices (NINDS, NHLBI, NIA, NEI, NIDDK, NIAMS, NICHD, NCI, NIAID, ORWH and ODP).
