Abstract

The NCI Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT) seeks to accelerate scientific discovery and facilitate translational research and precision medicine. Its principal activities include developing, coordinating, and deploying enterprise-wide biomedical-informatics and scientific-management information-technology (IT) systems, infrastructure, open-source applications, semantics, and data resources in support of the Institute's research agenda. CBIIT manages the IT infrastructure that supports scientific and administrative activities across NCI. Intramural services include support for desktop computers and users, core information technologies, network management and operations, centralized network storage, and network security.
