Abstract
NarQ or formate dehydrogenase D is part of most formate dehydrogenase operons and has been identified as a crucial component of the activation of this multi subunit membrane protein. Although its precise mechanism is not known yet, it has been proposed to be an activating protease on the basis of inhibition studies. There is a good chance that the structure of this protein will provide a new three-dimensional protein fold; in addition, it can be used to test the protease hypothesis. Data collection was done on BioCARS Station 14 BM-C.
